FAQ about the Basic Wall Course

What is the minimum age to participate?

The recommended minimum age is aged 15. However, participants aged 12-14 may attend if accompanied by a participating adult.

Is the price the same for students?

The course fee is the same for everyone, however the entry fee will differ for Student vs Adult.

When does the course run?

Courses are scheduled every day. Check the weekly schedule on the flyer.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Spaces are limited and the course requires at least 4 persons booked to run.

Once I have completed the BWC can I continue to climb in Camp5?

Yes. Upon graduating from the course, you will receive a Camp5 Access Card which links to your own member profile. You'll be eligible to continue climbing on the same day of the course (as your entry is already paid), or return any other day and check in to climb.

Will I be able to bring in a Guest?

Yes. As a competent, independent climber, provided you are over 18 years of age, you will be eligible to bring up to 2 novice guests with you climbing. Of course you will be responsible for your guest's safety so we don't recommend you start introducing your friends until you have locked in a few more hours experience first.

Can I teach my Guest?

We do not recommend teaching your guest. Our instructors have logged hundreds of hours climbing and undergone certification training. It may look easy but there are a lot of concerns that if not recognized and addressed in the training may lead to serious injury.

Will the certification allow me to climb in other gyms?

Whilst we cannot say 100% percent as operation system differ from country to country, given that our instructors certification is recognized by the International Federation of Sport Climbing Associations (IFSCA) there is a good chance your certificate will be accepted as proof of training. In our experience we know of no situation where a past graduate of our BWC was denied access.

What happens if I take a break and forget some of the skills?

As a graduate of our BWC your attendance will be logged to your member profile and you will have the privilege of receiving a free refresher training anytime. This is dependent on instructor availability, so if you feel you might need a refresher then we recommend you let us know in advance.
