Learn to Boulder

Bouldering is the fastest growing approach to climbing worldwide. Without the need for a harness or rope, bouldering involves climbing on "boulders" - walls typically less than 5m height, with a mattress below to provide protection to cushion your landing.

If you have never bouldered before, this 1-hour training covers the princple skills to get you started. Beginning with a warm-up and stretches, you'll learn about handholds, basic footwork, how to fall safely and how to spot another climber.

At the conclusion you will receive your very own member card so you can boulder at any Camp5 outlet. BBC is recommended for 13 years of age or older.

Yes. As a competent, independent climber, provided you are over 18 years of age, you will be eligible to bring up to 2 novice guests with you climbing. As you will be responsible for your guest's safety we don't recommend hosting your friends until you have locked in a few more hours experience.

We do not recommend teaching your guest. Our instructors have logged hundreds of hours climbing and undergone Instructor Certification training. It may look easy but there are a lot of concerns that if not recognized and addressed in the training may lead to serious injury.

Whilst we cannot say 100% percent as operation polocies differ from country to country, given that our instructors certification is recognized by the International Federation of Sport Climbing Associations (IFSCA) there is a good chance your certificate will be accepted as proof of training. In our experience we know of no situation where a past graduate of our BBC was denied access.

As a graduate of our BBC your attendance will be logged to your member profile and you will have the privilege of receiving a free refresher training anytime, on request. This is dependent on instructor availability, so if you feel you might need a refresher then we recommend you let us know in advance.
