Climbing is a sport that demands a diverse set of skills and the knowledge of what technique to apply to the terrain. Balance, coordination, flexibility and focus need to pair with physical strength to delivery the most efficient movement; what climbers call 'flow' and other know as good style.

Whilst there is no shortcut to experience. Gaining a solid foundation of the fundamentals of good climbing technique will serve to accelerate your grade progression.

Basic Movement Course

The Basic Movement Course (BMC) workshop is designed to get you started on the right foot! But seriously, all puns aside, whilst climbing movement is natural and can develop intuitively, for those who seek a head start, the BMC is for you.

Designed for the fresh graduate of the Basic Wall Course or any novice climber, this two-hour practical workshop will provide the basic fundamental skills and techniques to plan your climbing, improve performance, climb more efficiently without overworking your upper body and minimizing the chance of injury.

Practice sessions will be carried out on the boulder and top-rope walls so competency in basic top-rope belay and relevant safety skills is a prerequisite. There is no age restriction however we recommend children under the age of 15 be accompanied by an adult. Individual bookings will be combined; a minimum enrollment of 4 participants is required to run the course.

Poetry of Movement Workshop

The goal of this Clinic series is to improve your movement patterns through theoretical understanding of principle movements and practical instruction. Climbing is essentially applied physics, but don't let the science confuse you.

This is experiential learning - learning through application and practice. Totaling 16 hours over 8 classes, each 2hr workshop session will focus on a specific set of movements or exercises (see class details opp). Classes are progressive so it is highly recommended to enroll in the full workshop to gain the most from the classes.

The clinic starts by introducing the basics of balance; we learn various movements, skills and exercises, dissecting complicated movements into isolated blocks that build upon each other, finally bringing it all together with individual skill improvement.
